"Thoughts on Ben Carson as Head of HUD"

  1. Pam says:

Why did you quote the percentage change for blacks and Hispanics at the percentage change from ’05-’15 and then compare it to the percentage change for whites at the percentage change from ’01-’15? Going from 63% to 40% is much different that 63% to 24%. If your going to quote numbers you should compare apples to apples. I think you have picked up the bad habits of CNN. Disappointing…why the spin?

    1. Carol says:

I agree, he used the wrong figure on the white population.

      1. BrianStevebs says:

The figures I used represent the drop in loan volume over the stated period. The figures are from the urban institute’s analysis of HMDA data over that period. So I’m not spinning anything or using faulty data. I’ve attached the link http://www.dsnews.com/daily-dose/11-25-2016/opening-access-mortgage-credit

  2. Paul says:

You definitely should explain why you spinned it like both FOX and CNN . Viewers are going start to really question any time you put out facts and scrutinize your sources.

  3. Miranda says:

I’m confused on why when quoting the percentage changes the wrong numbers were quoted for whites in comparison to the others? I trust that this was a misspoken error and not an intentional change to make the numbers seem more dramatic. I would like to believe that you have more integrity than that…

  4. Mark Brown says:

Ben Carson certainly is a good candidate to help dismantle a severely flawed Housing/Oversight system. However, it’s going to take a strong leader, who gives no quarter to remove a government department that has years head start on him. Kudos for his willingness to do that, though Kiefer Sutherland was a principled (TV Program) HUD Secretary, and (wait for it)….it got him canned! Hopefully he could use Mr Trump’s influence to drive home his changes.
Can’t in good conscience pass this vid on. Your attempt at humor today swung (pun intended) seriously awry.

  6. Steve says:

I always qualify on income, employment and credit reports, period. What does race have to do with qualifying for a home? I’m sick of even asking that question on the 1003 as it has nothing to with ability to repay.

  7. Jim Dague says:

You two (and your crew) do an AMAZING job at helping see a more MACRO view – THANK YOU! OMG You’re human? I thought you were AI Bots lol. Mistakes aside – I am a BIG FAN of your work – and your willingness to put yourselves out there.

  8. Brenda says:

  9. MommyRev says:

Rep. Katie Porter : HUD Secretary Ben Carson has failed America s working families. They deserve better.
