   I bought a home using my VA in 2016 and paid a 3% funding fee since it was a subsequent use. I had filed a claim for Disability with VA that was approved after the home closed however it was awarded based on the filing date which was prior to my purchase date. I should not have paid a funding fee because of that so they refunded my fee.
