As is stands right now there are real affordable housing measures in the tax reform bill. We need those!

In theory the tax credit program is a great idea. I have reviewed several of these programs. Guess what! (Surprise) They are loaded with fraud. The projects I reviewed the “government” approved costs at least twice the actual cost to the builder. then the tax credits are sold to a large company like So Cal Edison etc. We tried to get in on the program, but the money came from the Federal Government, but approvals and administration is by the state (I am in Ca), unless you paid off the right politicians you were not going to get a project approved. It is a waste of money and could be helpful if the fraud aspect was removed.
