Brian, Brian, Brian. In 1984 it was ONLY manual underwrites. The mortgage industry has SOOOOOO many issues. Do we need more buyers? There are tons. Do we need more products? Maybe a good ARM product. Do we need to expand Non QM probably not. But, what we need more than anything is to change the perception of the industry as a whole. Most prospective homebuyers view getting a mortgage as something they look forward to less than a root canal. Now, we’ve earned it as an industry for sure. But, what are companies doing to improve the process? Not much. What companies are looking to change the process? Few. What companies are training their ops staff on Customer Service, NONE.
