We Need Your Input on Something…

We’re in San Diego today meeting with some awesome people that are going to bring great value to you – the viewers of our show, so we’re off today. We do however, need your input on something.  We’ve been making some changes as you’ve seen and we are going to make some more – for the better of course!  One of the big changes we want to make is our name.  The TBWS Daily Show really doesn’t convey who we are and what we do.  So we’d like your input on this.  Think about who we are and what we do and tell us what you think an appropriate name would be for our show.  Leave us a comment down below telling us what you think.  Also, we had such an overwhelming response to all the employers and job seekers out there, we’re coming out with a solution for that as well this month.

Another one of the new things on the horizon is our weekly newsletter.  This will be sent out on Saturdays.  We are going to have industry leaders providing content that’s going to be helpful to your business whether you’re a lending professional or a real estate professional, so keep on the lookout for that.

At any rate since we’re not here today we didn’t want to leave you without something helpful, so there’s a really cool webinar that you can watch by clicking the link down below.  It’s for a product called Loan Officer Unfair Advantage.  We recommended several products in the past but this is one that keeps coming back around because it’s just so darn good. Obviously it’s a good product for a loan officer, but it’s equally as good for a realtor.  So if you’re interested in a very clever and cool way to generate some new purchase business, check it out.  So here’s the link:

You all have a wonderful day and we’ll see you tomorrow!

Remember when Coke was competing with Pepsi and made a \New Coke\ that replace the old Coke. Well, they lost market share and had to do a big song and dance to turn around the mistake.

  10. Kevin says:

If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.
It’s a great name. Leave good alone.

  11. Paul Hillmer says:

You are you’re crazy to change your name. TBWS is a great unique name. As a ex finance company for 5 years, retail banker for 5 years, than brokerfor 12 years, then mortgage banker for 4, now back to retail banker for 1.2 years (in fact my old job with new merged bank-never burn your bridges), you tend to focus a bit too much on brokers. But I am OK with that (pays your bills-ads) and so HAPPY I am not in that world anymore. I have been swamped with business for over a year and good business at that. It was fun ten years ago as a broker but not now. So love the idea of newsletter but please gear it for everyone in the mortgage world and not just the few wholesale brokers left in business. just saying.. and keep up the informative web site! I know much more about mortgage lending than my co workers because I follow you guys!

  13. Persona Buena says:

Just leave it alone. It works for me. I see no need to change it. Your PR person just needs you to spend money?
It’s not broken, it is successful, you built it (or did you?) – so don’t screw it up.

  14. Annie says:

    Don’t change your name.

  15. Annie says:

I think of you as TBWS and as \I’m Frank; he’s Brian.\ Don’t listen to your west coast promo man. Zappa. Look it up.

Great idea to change “the wrapper” but to keep everything else the same. How about Rockstars in Real Estate or RE Rockstars. Your motto can be: Tune In Daily For Rockin Real Estate News to make You A Rockstar

I like “Think Big Work Smart”!

    • I really like TBWS!!! Reminds me of the news stations. You may want to change the meaning behind it because you do not “work small” the point is to “Work Smart” so I say Think Big, Work Smart!

Those that know you don’t care what it stands for because they know you guys will always deliver. Those that have been sharing this site with others for years, to saying TBWS so don’t change it!!! It works!

  20. Micha el says:

The T.B.W.S. acronymn has to stay, you could refresh it by removing the confusing word SMALL and replace it with SMART.
Daily only describes the frequency and is both a limiting and confining description, you should feel comfortable doing a second show in a single day or not have to appologies for missing a day, like today.Better would be the descriptor “Update”… YOU drive the content to subscribed viewers, these viewers keep or forward to friends, coleagues and clients. If you really want to grow, I suggest the little blue pills, but make sure you still have an outlet to service…that’s me…and my circle of clients, friends & business partners. Your content over the years has started many conversations and helped stay in touch with <5 min. topical discussions round the real estate and mortgage industry that makes me look…well, SMART.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it ….

  24. Jani Henry says:

How about “TBWS Morning Juice” “TBWS Breakfast of Champions” or “TBWS Breakfast Club”

It doesn’t matter what the TBWS stands for, so use in front of any name you choose. That way you retain your initial search and pick up a couple of new ones.

  25. Carlos Contreras says:

How about: “Tell it like it is” or “Whats in it for you?’

  26. Steve Drager says:

I have read all the posts and believe that none are

  30. Bernadette Dillon says:

Keep the name – it is like comfort food. In our industry where every thing changes daily, you need people you can count on to tell it like it is. You are like chocolate or apple pie in the fall with a scoop of ice cream on the side….TBWS is great. do you think Hershey’s or Ford should change their name?
Keep it – it works just like the two of you. Like old Faithful in Yellowstone Park. That name will never change and neither should yours….

  31. It’s funny. So few people know what Think Big Work Small means. It means we always have to think big, but we get there by working at it little by little each and every day. I doesn’t mean to not work much, it means to chip away at it every day.

    • Greg Parrish says:

There’s too much brand recognition to walk away from. If anything spell it out instead of using initials. Or use both such as TBWS then spell out the name. I believe it would be a big mistake to make any change away from TBWS.-Greg

    • Norm says:

Then keep the name (its not broken) and post the mission statement below it as: “TBWS – the act of…”

  33. Edward Hampton says:

Why change a good thing. Keep TBSW. It works

  34. I like your current name and believe you have developed a strong and identifiable brand within the Real Estate and Lending communities.

“Frank and Brian” sounds to much like a radio show.

If you start adding something sounds like real estate or lending-like, then it sounds boring and no different from all the “newsletter/industry-speak” bilge.

  35. Keep your brand. I finally have it memorized. If you change the “S” from small to smart, that’s ok. You are a breath of fresh air! Thank you for providing clarity at a time when so much confusion exists.

  36. “The loan jerks”, or how about Think Big and don’t be stupid.

  37. I always thought your name was a terrible reflection of what you guys do for the market. Many corporate people dont like it also. they spend alot of money to get thier LO’s to work harder and smarter. so they dont like a name that referes to sit on your ass and think big and bairley work… I love the idea of changing TBWS to Think Bigger Work Smarter… wow what a difference… Just my thoughts.

  38. I think Reality Real Estate.com kind of fits.

  39. Sal Bruno says:

    DON’T CHANGE THE NAME!!!

  40. Martella says:

I like this Think Bigger Work Smarter — Keep the TBWS you have a 129,054 alexa rating — that is dang good you will be under 100K in no time — you are already branded

  41. \If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it\. Greater words were never spoken.

  43. joecolorado says:

Change your signature??????doesn’t seem right does it? I wonder if McDonalds, Burger King, Macy’s, Woolworths or Sears, ever thought about doing that?

  44. Sparkdgo says:

Guys…you’ve branded TBWS into a multi-facted media entity. DON’T CHANGE IT…don’t think so hard…people will find you over time…slow and steady growth. As it was said by someone your call letters TBWS identify you…Great job and thanks!

  45. Scott says:

I will just say this… COKE, NEW COKE. what a great move that was. THINK LONG THINK HARD.

  46. Cathy Holden says:

Well Jim S. beat me to it but I’ve always thought the TBWS should have been Think Big Work Smart. You bring us such great knowledge but also spin it so we can use that knowledge in the smartest fashion. Keep it up!

  47. REORealtor1 says:

I like Keith Knapps idea. Honestly, I do not care what your name is. I love your video in the morning- it gets me into work mode and keeps me up on industry news with a good laugh to boot. I pass you on all the time and appreciate all you do for the industry. Thanks!

  48. Jim Summers says:

Sometimes just a tweek does it: “Think Big Work Smart”.
“Work small” has always implied to me – a little laziness, or slacking, or there is a potential to do more. Not many of us grunts still in the real estate and mortgage industries can be working small now and survive. Maybe “Think Bigger, Work Smarter – Today’s Real Estate and Mortgage News”

  49. I like the rebranding idea, and I think that what you do is make the real estate and mortgage news interesting and accessible to a wide audience. Who else could make learning about regulatory actions entertaining? You guys do remind me of Jon Stewart in how he goes through the news and makes it all funny, so I like the comparison to him that comes with a name like \The Daily Show with Frank and Brian.\ Or maybe just \The Real Estate Daily Show?\
And I do like \Mortgage Matters\ but I think you want to include all real estate issues, so how about \Real Estate Rocks with Frank and Brian?\

  50. Lisa Jones says:

How about The Straight Shooters of Real Estate? I love you guys!!

  51. Tim Love says:

Think Big Work Small (TBWS) says it all. You are the talk of the office. Don’t change it.

  52. keep everything the same…We all want to TBWS

  53. Keith Knapp says:

If you are focusing on growth then keep the name but rename the show that you are doing – leaves you a lot of room for future growth and new ventures.

    TBWS Finance Minute
    TBWS Real Estate Minute

Keep the branding – you have done a great job of building that, stand on the brand to expand your footprint.

  54. Gina says:

I think we are all oo close to the real estate industry. Ask people on the street what they would google. Most people ask me whats happening in RE
or how’s it going? I don’t know many people that would google think big work small.

      • Moe Bedard says:

        Yeah, imagine that? lol

Why is my website LoanSafe.org? Maybe to rank for loan terms for the highest ad payouts on the web??? mmmmm….interesting.

Please email or call me if you need a good SEO and internet marketer who walks the SEO walk and talks the high ranking and multiple 6 figure traffic talk. Or just keep doing videos for agents who want to TBWS. You get my point brothers ;)

  55. Appraiser says:

All I know is that you guys have to stop the flashing and moving advertising. It is getting obnoxious and starting to make me sick to my stomach when I what your show. Please take them out or at least freeze them when the video plays.

  56. John Insco says:

Keep the name the way it is. It would be a shame to waste all of the equity you have put into it.

  57. Tim B says:

The name is different. Different is good. Different is memorable. You have tons of good will with TBWS. BTW, does “growth” mean forgetting about the “small” population you started with?? Small brokers need you. Keep some reference to the little guys! Big guys already have plenty of help (i.e. PAC funds)!

  58. JoeHomeloans says:

Think Big Work Small is a great name. We are in the people business that happens to include the selling, buying or finance of real estate. First time I heard think big work small I instantly connected with you because that is my business philosophy.

    Keep up the good work.

  59. Jordan Hudson says:

    By– Henry Thoreau –.

KEEP THE NAME GUY’S, DON’T FORGET WHY PEOPLE LIKED YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE! Unless your trying to sell your show $$ then yea

    • I think most people that watch us watch because we deliver a good message with some humor in it. I don’t think many watch “because” of the name, but I believe a better name may help others find us who don’t know us yet. That’s kind of where we’re at with it. The show itself will never change, just the wrapper. Make sense?

      • Martella says:

To find you people don’t search for a company name unless they already know it — they search with keywords and the search engines use your subject titles and keywords to connect you with the info seeker — your content is always fresh and you use the “keywords of the day” of the day in your title. I might suggest that you consider translating your daily show into words and add that to the site for people that would like to read it as well — that will also help with SEO and the spiders seeking you out — the spiders search by words they can’t “read’ the content of a video. Anyway “I Bless the Day I Found You” hmmmmm isn’t that a song LOL Bless You guys

  62. Jerry says:

THE DAILY SHOW WITH FRANK & BRIAN\ would be the best . gets my vote.

    • Mortgage Modifier in Oregon says:

I like The TBWS Daily Show w Frank & Brian and agree dont change it. I also agree with a previous poster that there are too many moving parts and is very distracting if not irritating. Its seems you are trying to implement too many things at one time and too quickly. Its seems every other week, some change in formatting occurring.Decide, and then make the changes and keep them for awhile.Consistency and stability.

  63. Linda McCabe says:

Whenever someone refers to your video in appraisal circles, it’s always “Frank and Brian, the 2 crazy mortgage guys”. I would totally stay with that!
    BTW, LOVE what you do.

  64. Lawrence says:

“Big Dicken It With Brian and Dave” it says it all. USE IT!

  65. Sonny says:

Love the new look, much better and cleaner!

Don’t have a good name you guys are “the crazy mortgage video guys” when I think about your show.

  68. I find the new format too busy also. I am here to focus on your update. It would be a shame to drop TBWS Daily, but I also understand why. Maybe you could do something like: “Mortgage and Real Estate News at the TBWS Daily” or something like that.

  69. Rose B says:

Don’t know what I’d do without you guys each day. Even when you have your substitutes do the show it \ain’t the same\ ! I think \ THE DAILY SHOW WITH FRANK & BRIAN\ would be the best . The acronyms are a bit of a pain sometimes but need THE DAILY SHOW..

  70. Debbi says:

You guys have done great! I think of you and your show as real world common sense….. so in that vein, how bout “Let’s Get R.E.A.L” – Real Estate and Lending (playing off of prior name idea)..

  71. Dave T says:

How about Real Estate Building Blocks? You guys provide a lot of good info and tools for many different facets of this industry. Building blocks for the business of real estate. Thanks for what you do, and good luck with your climb to the top.

  72. You guys are in SD and not giving me a call to go grab a barley soda or Jameson?

  73. MaryAnn says:

I think your name is just fine but a good new one would be: The Daily Show With Frank and Brian. Please drop the acronym if you do change names; the over use of acronyms is making me crazy.

A comment on the new format: The background is so busy, it’s distracting and the city scape doesn’t represent what you are all about.

I always enjoy your show! Thanks for the keeping me updated with humor.

  79. Joe says:

Keep the name, add a slogan or tag line.

Something like that…That way you can grow but still retain your roots.

  80. Brenda Feria says:

I think that your name is perfect. The radio is one of the few media that we can count on for stimulating discussions and inclusiveness. The TBWS Daily reminds me of radio call letters, but with you we get both the visual and the voice. We all know our favorite radio stations and what type of music they play or what type of show we like. They all have call letters. What is your motivation for changing your name? I’m not getting it.

  81. Kurt Blumthal says:

I likes the BFD and thought “Housing Update – BFD” (For Brian and Frank Daily) might be a cool play on words with this crazy market we are all riding. Not really corporate, but with enough smack connotations to have people who may not know what it is go, “Huh?”

  87. Dan Drelich says:

Frank, Brian, Any name you choose (if you decide to change it) will probably stick for awhile. So, consider all the future markets you may be interested in attracting (ie, title, legal, service, etc.) The name TBWS covers every conceivable industry and has worked well so far. Has viewership stalled? Are you having a difficult time attracting additional hits from outside the mortgage/Realtor/appraiser markets….do you want to attract from outside those markets…would it dilute your message? Maybe you’re already living in the sweet spot and don’t realize it. Don’t jump too quickly.

    • Nah, it ain’t broke. Plenty of viewers etc… but we really feel we could increase our audience even more and a name that better defines us is important to us. Thanks for your advice about not jumping too quickly, we’re not, we’ve been kicking this around for a long time. We just feel that now is the right time. I have a feeling that 2013 and beyond is a new era and I want to go into it with a “renewed everything” – get what I mean?

      • Garrick says:

You guys ARE ThinkBigWorkSmall and well known within the industry as that – the “Black Cat” came up in my NMLS class yesterday as an example and it was on “ThingBigWorkSmall”. You gotta do what you gotta do, I get it but it I dont know if it’s a good idea.

  94. David says:

Name is fine. Who would of thougth “Google” would catch on? Don’t go “corporate” either. I believe most of us listen to you becasuse is not edited for markerter or “corperate responiblitly.” One suggestion is you assume some listeners know the terms and government agencies… they don’t. IF you want to reach a wider market, you need to have a drop down or ballon that explains what industry people take for granted. The “cat” video recently reffered to a “third party”… the apprasial management companies, AMC. But nearly everyone outside of the industry did not understand what exactly a AMC is, it’s role and the road blocks this process presents.

    • We won’t go corporate – trust me, we’ve tried that and it just doesn’t work for us. But we feel we need another growth milestone. We’ve been down this road before. I don’t know if you remember when we went from the “rubber room” to the green screen but that was a big change for us. Some people were really put off by it, but deep down inside we knew it was the right thing to do and now, no one minds it at all. We’re feeling like it’s the right thing to do for all of us, and when I say that I include you. There have been some great ideas thrown around today. We have a lot to consider. Bottom line is this – Even if we change the name WE WON’T CHANGE. We will always stay true to who we are no matter what the wrapping looks like! Thanks for your comment – We appreciate it. :)

  100. Pam Marron says:

I like TBWS…. that’s what you do. Not sure why you want to change something universally known, already branded with great recognition. If your intent is to start down another avenue, open a NEW site, like what was done with Real Estate Marbles. If you are wanting to portray another stream of thought, tell us what that stream of thought is and come up with a webname for THAT avenue.

  101. PETE says:

TBWS I think said most of it. But as you say you cover more than that. Stay with your orignal Slogan at the end as a sign off.
    Here are some names I have come up with;
    The Daily Real Estate News,
    The Daily Real Estate News,
    Real Estate In Todays World,
Real Estate News Today & Tomorrow,
    Your Daily Real Estate News,
    Today’s Real Estate News,
    Today’s Real Estate What?
I see someone mentioned Real Estate (Weekly) Digest, That would be good for a news letter but I would add Weekly, as you see it.

  102. Nick says:

The B.F.D. in Real Estate may be a new name to capture attention… Brian,Frank Daily(of course).

Maybe posting the Daily links on your Sat site would make it easier to review if one is missed or a glitch during the week.

All kidding aside TBWS has has been branded well so if it is not broke…don’t fix it.

  103. Frank Cilento says:

I like your name because it reminds me every day how to run my business, but if you are going to change it, a name I thought of is INSIDE MORTGAGES TODAY or MORTGAGE MARKET INSIDER

  104. Sherrie Nickeas says:

how about the “Get Real” show!

  105. Gary Winslow says:

Keep the TBWS Daily and add something. Short Like
    TBWS Daily, growing your business!

  106. Jacque says:

I love your name and the fact that it is how I like to run my business. I agree with the others, Apple, google and such are just names. Your name says it all.And what’s more it crosses all markets, lender Realtors, appraisers.

    • Moe Bedard says:

Apple, google and such are just names? LOL….. You have got to be kidding me? More like multi-BILLION dollar brand names.

      • mark says:

I think what she meant was their names dont describe what they do. Think Big Work Small – gives an acutal description.

        • Moe Bedard says:

Oh, I know what she meant. The biggest websites in the world and largest brands dont describe what they do. The TBWS name attract agents who want to think big and work small. That is so 2005. It should be Work Hard, Think Less…..And I AM dead marketing sirius here :)

  107. Ernesto Cortez says:

“To Mortgage or to Real Estate” (Company Name) “What are your questions?” (Company Slogan) However, I do like TBWS much better.

  108. Allen Johnson says:

I don’t care what you call it, my issue is I cannot open your show in internet explorer, have to open google web site.

    • PETE says:

It depends on what e-mail you have that will open the daily show and who is your prime web sit carrier.
I have no problem with explorer. Check your settings and your operating system.

  109. Jerry E. says:

Why change your name, when you have worked so long and hard to establish it???? What would the gain be by changing your name?

  110. Johnny bravo says:

Completely agree with you guys! I actually gave you guys as an example of “mislabeled” websites in a sales meeting.

    What conveys who you are?

I think something like “inside mortgage” or “R.E.now”

  111. Cathy says:

You showed up in my “spam” file a few weeks ago and
I took a peek – I’m checking in every day now and
when I think of you; it’s “The Real Estate Guys” -
my input! Boring, but it would “google”

  112. Michael D. Raines says:

Your posted online statement says it all, that your minds are made up to change by stating; \One of the big changes we want to make is our name.\ If this is truly your decision then why not copy what our radio show is called. I am a loan officer that I am employed with United Capital Lending in Knoxville, Tn. Myself and our Gen. Mgr Roger McGee do a weekly radio show called, \Mortgage Matter’s\ that we broadcast out to 6 states on a 100,000 watt signal to help educate homeowners and professionals within our industry as you both do. We air from 11-12 EST that you can pick up outside the listening area from your home computer since our radio station is streamlined with a live video feed. With our theme of \Mortgage Matter’s, your spin could be \Mortgage Matter’s to U.S. (Meaning-\Mortgage Matter’s to the United States). Best of luck with your future decision, I have enjoyed your show and welcome you to join ours by calling 865-243-8255; the \Big Talker\ as our guest.

  113. David Meek says:

Change the name, but incorporate TBWS as your slogan. Use “…think big, work small” in conjunction with your logo. Your audience is loan originators, Realtors, appraisers and the like so an all-encompassing name like your “Real Estate Marbles…think big, work small” would work and would be memorable.

  114. John King says:

    Keep the same name

  115. HIPO T K says:

Keep the name! You worked hard to build this brand, why start over? But if you’re ‘stuck on stupid’, the names The Real Daily Estate (silent E) or Daily Double Cup O’ Real come to mind.

  116. Margaret says:

Please don’t change your name – most of us have to change our names/numbers/emails/passwords….yadda yadda so much in the last few years that we need a constant in our lives…. :)

  117. Dominic says:

Daily Real Estate Digest, real estate digesst, real estate insider, RE show on the go, Daily RE Update, real estate insider. Just a few to throw out there to get the ideas flowing. You guys have been talking about the whole real estate inustry so I don’t think something just about the mortgage end would do.

  118. Mike Towler says:

    Don’t change your name

  119. Marve Stockert says:

TBWS is a name when I dcusss video, proplr recognize and refer to. Why fix somehting that is not broken

  120. Dan Keune says:

and someone said lets build a computer and call it an apple? You provide a global view to my my local market…. I think you two got it right..

  121. Dana says:

You guys do need a brand and a catchier name. When I think if something I will let you know! Best of luck and you guys do a great job.

  122. Bobbye says:

I agree with Fred. The name you have is perfect…….. maybe the abbreviated version is a tad misleading,non-telling, even boring(reminds me of a news team on some obscure TV station), but think big, work Small in pure genius— says everything in 4 words

  123. Hal Hoodwin says:

Yahoo, Google, Amazon… those names don’t say anything about what those companies are about either… but, just like you guys, they worked hard to brand the name and everybody knows what they’re about.

I suggest you don’t mess with success.

    All the best,

    Hal Hoodwin

  124. The real scoop
    Truth..the whole truth
    Scoop the facts

  125. Tom Williams says:

The voice of truth and common sense amid the political spin, idiots and madness that surrounds our industry. And good chuckle a few times week. Best part of my morning. Thanks, Guys

  126. FRED says:

Keep the name you have it has gotten you where you are today. Do not screw with success. Maybe you need a dose of reality change your name and you will decline because you will no longer be representing the little people. I figure sometimes success goes to ones head and they forget the horse they rode to success

    • I agree to a certain degree with you. But sometimes you have to do something for the greater good. Our name doesn’t make us that “findable” on Google. We’d like to have more consumers watching the show so we can try to make those consumer eyeballs accessible to you guys and a name change that represents who we are and what we do can help with that a lot IMHO.

      ~Frank

      • Moe Bedard says:

Fred does not know what is talking about. It is your “work” that has got you where you are at and NOT your names.

I have found professionals to be the weakest and most stressful form of business to deal with on or off the internet. Their purchase power has dwindled to pennies where most of them make very little money, but have huge egos based on their faux old earning power.

If you want to make money online through your work, it is the consumer who will bring it to you and also be loyal to you regardless if they make sales or close a ‘damn deal.’

In addition guys, you are asking mostly people who have been brain washed to market their names since they became sales people. Been there, don that and I don’t like having to perform, be a puppet or live up to a “personal name” when I can create a “brand” that lives on its own.

  127. The ‘Loan’ Rangers

  128. Benjamin Marcoux says:
